3M VHB Tape Universal Primer UV
3M VHB Tape Universal Primer UV is a priming solution designed for bonding with 3M VHB Tapes. It enables strong, durable bonds on surfaces like polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends and other difficult to stick to substrates while improving a manufacturer’s environmental, health, and safety profile when compared to using 3M™ Primer 94.
It offers an improved environmental, health, and safety profile compared to 3M™ Primer 94, thanks to the absence of intentionally added aromatics such as Toluene, Xylene, and Chlorobenzene, as well as halogenated compounds. This universal primer features a UV indicator, making it visible under UV light to verify application, minimise priming errors, and support quality control. Its quick-drying formula helps improve speed and productivity. Designed to promote adhesive on load-bearing bonds, its low-impact formulation is ideal for challenging surfaces. Specifically developed for use with 3M™ VHB™ Tapes, it enhances adhesion on difficult-to-stick substrates like plastic, painted, and bare metal. Application methods include brush, swab, felt-tipped dauber bottle, knurled roller, or similar tools, and it can be removed with acetone.
